About me

In August of 2019, I had to choose.

I chose the unknown.

I was about to begin a graduate program in nursing, and I wasn’t sure it was the right place for me. In a tearful conversation with my minister, I was able to admit that I worried that if I went into this program, I’d miss out on life. What I meant was that I’d miss out on creative life. I’d miss out on free expression, creative conversations, and practicing my healing arts. What I craved was to feel energy move and to create. Through my soul searching process, I realized that a deep part of me was hungry for textured image and embodied symbols. It was hungry for the magic of energy to reshape my world. I decided to let go of my ambitions in nursing, and to drink deep of this kind of magic.

Since realizing myself into a creative life (over and over and over), this site shifted to support my work as a poet and writer, and now as a healer and teacher. I bring poetic image and symbolic language into the body, and ask people to go deep into their embodied present to find what they are looking for. I think people are looking for belonging. I am very curious about how we find our belonging (healing) through community, energy work, intuitive practice; through food, medicines, self care routines; through movement, activism, and connection to each other and to the more than human world. I do not think there is one answer to healing our belonging. I invite the questions that heal live in us. I invite you to join me on this journey to discover where they lead.

My career has been focused on health care and health education. During college at UC Berkeley (BA in Religious Studies, 1998) I became a peer sexual health educator, and a Breema Bodywork practitioner and instructor. These gave me the foundations for years of work as an educator and healing artist.

I worked for Planned Parenthood as a medical assistant, clinic manager, and community educator. I trained in massage, bodywork and natural therapeutics at the New Mexico School of Natural Therapeutics. This is where I discovered that I am a highly intuitive energy worker. At NMSNT I studied Polarity therapy, Chinese medical theory, Craniosacral therapy, Core Synchronism, myofascial massage, herbalism, homeopathy and flower remedies. I worked as a licensed massage therapist for 5 years.

In 2009, I received my BSN in nursing from the University of New Mexico. I spent 16 years in the nursing profession, much of that time focused on patient education. I still have my nursing license in NM, and adhere to the professional ethics of the fields of nursing and bodywork.

In 2016 I became a certified facilitator of TEPP (The Embodied Present Process), and in 2018 I became a certified holistic nurse coach and a certified diabetes educator. Across the pandemic years I studied embodied racial justice and in 2023 I completed a certificate course in the Polyvagal Theory. From 2021-2025 I helped to create the Albuquerque School of Healing Arts (ASHA), developing core curricula and teaching the required subjects of anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, pathology and ethics. I continue to teach a Polyvagal Theory class at ASHA. This class is core to the success of these massage therapy and healing arts students.

As I dive back in to full time energy work, I have regrounded my work in Healing Touch, tarot, and am currently studying western tropical astrology. In the winter of 2021 I discovered remote energy healing during a Level 1 Healing Touch course. My remote energy work practice with humans and animals took off from there.

the intelligence of turquoise

when you find yourself

in a shadowed place

a hall of mirrors

or a rabbit hole

may you know the intelligence

of your skin and bones

and may it guide you toward freedom

may you know

trust

like an aerialist flying

trust in god

and gravity

and partners

and time

may you know the intelligence of turquoise

and the shape of a hand
